i'd just get a cheap push mower. 1/4 is not much to mow

It is so much wiser to pay a 1K for a self propelled with speed regulator and walk behind it with a smile, than pushing a god damn thing around and having body aches for the rest of a weekend.

pp you are responding to. yes, if my wife were mowing, i'd definitely do that. if i were mowing, i am too cheap to pay 1k for a fancy push mower.

When I posted I figured that you are a man with a lot of stamina
To a woman 1/4 of an acre is a lot to mow )))) Besides, there are other yard chores to do on top of moving. Better save that energy )))

Seriously? I’m 65 years old with arthritis and mowing the 1/4 acre lawn takes 35 minutes. Really if you can’t manage that go to the gym more.

Is it level or hilly?

Me too! I love my electric mower. Don't think I could start up a regular one. I just need to be careful with the cord.

I regret that I got myself an electric one, the cord is so annoying. Now browsing through https://trimthatweed.com/ in search of a decent replacement and my mower will be sold on ebay. Hope that the next one will satisfy my needs and I won't be selling another one.

If you want the environmental friendliness, quiet, and ease of use of an electric mower, but the power and convenience of a cordless or gas one, try a battery-operated electric one. We have the 21" EGO mower; I got the non-self-propelled one, because that meant it was both cheaper and better exercise to use, but they make one that pushes itself along, too.

+1. This is what we have.

Highly recommend going with an electric mower. If you already have battery powered tools, get one that you can use the same batteries.

I really like the Ryobi 40V series of yard tools.

The EGO mower is what you want. https://www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-21-in-Select-Cut-56V-Lith-Ion-Cordless-Electric-Walk-Behind-Self-Propelled-Mower-7-5-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-Included-LM2135SP/311174493It's a lightweight, cordless, battery-powered electric (battery lasts ages)--it is SELF PROPELLED--it even has a festive headlight for dusk time mowing. It's the highest-rated electric mower on Consumer Reports.

Bonus points: snazzy-looking enuf to get even the most sullen teenager excited to use it.

I have a non self propelled Ego and love it. It is light weight. I have a quarter acre and can do the whole thing + about 50 the yard again on the same charge. I love to push button start.
