Anyone want to wager if play spaces will be open over summer?

As soon as anything is open, we’re there. Pools, parks/playgrounds, whatever. My kids hate staying at home now - It’s especially going to drag over the summer!

Did the Coronavirus write this?

We’re all gonna get the ‘rona sometime. You can thank China for that. Pretty soon the governments message is going to move from “stay home” etc. to a message of “living with Coronavirus.” It’s impossible to make it just go extinct and it’s also impossible to stay in quarantine with almost everything closed until there’s a vaccine. Sack up buttercup! It’s coming for most/all of us eventually.

I wouldn’t go to indoor play spaces... but I would go to the outdoor pool. I I think I might have a mental breakdown if the pools aren’t open this summer.

Hate to say it, but I agree with this. I'm not too hopeful that there will be a vaccine that works well - definitely not for a couple of years. But I do still think the key is to keep the virus moving slow so as to not overwhelm the medical facilities and to protect the vulnerable.

I am going to follow the official orders. They say stay home, I stay home. They say I can go somewhere? I will.

The stupid on this thread is amazing.

And I'll caveat the above by saying my local leadership is cautious. If I had some dumb MAGA governor I wouldn't follow.

Swimming pools are one of the best ways of spreading diseases. Guess you'll go insane. Up

No, I don’t miss the indoor play spaces. I was never a huge fan anyway. After being indoor all this time, I just want to be outside!! Swimming, cycling, playground, just to be able to do all this things without all this social distancing is what I look forward to. Who wants to go to Nook and play with trains when you do that ALL THE TIME now.

+ A million. I really only like going to these types of places for private birthday parties because we always seem to pick up some random virus from the masses. I don’t trust people to keep their kids home, especially when kids don’t have severe symptoms. No way to tell who is a vector.

These things are toast.

+1 indoor spaces are gross to begin with. I also doubt many can financially survive 3+ months without revenue...

Do you mean JW Tumbles?

JW Tumbles just says it’s closed during coronavirus. Doesn’t say permanently.

I got an email from them saying they weren’t able to renew their lease, and they are closing for good.

Yeah I think these places will be a casualty of the pandemic, sadly. They are a petri dish of germs even in non-pandemic times. I was not too much of germaphobe before all this so was willing to take my chances to let them get energy out sometimes. But I can't see wanting to go back until there's a vaccine. Even if they limit the number of kids allowed in, they are all climbing on the same stuff within seconds of each other. It is not possible to do social distancing. I feel so bad for the owners of these businesses.
