This is such an unnecessary post, OP. While I did not post any of those holiday threads complaining about my ILs or whatever, I've been stressed over the holidays, sure. I've had fleeting thoughts of "I wish it could just be us without all this fuss," yes. Because I am human.

But at the end of the day, I love my family and my husband's family, and I love creating and celebrating nice holidays and loving memories. It's worth the effort.

But you know what? Like it says in the Grinch book, Easter "came just the same," and so will any other holidays that look and feel a bit different this year. No matter what, we will celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas and all the other holidays. The will still be special. And if this year we have to do it with just our immediate families, Christmas will come just the same. And there will be gifts and blessings to a different Christmas, as we have eyes to see them.
