I was just going to post on this too. Sympathies - in the same boat and I can’t afford to lose my job. And I’m still paying for daycare Im not getting so can’t afford a babysitter or nanny... |
NP here. We withdrew from daycare and are starting with a new nanny April 17th. I am done with daycare! |
We hired a nanny and it has made a world of difference. First 2 weeks we didn’t have any help, DH and I were both working a lot and were at each other’s throats. Now kids are happy, house is cleaner, DH and I are back on track and the nanny is even helping them do their schoolwork. There is a marked difference between our home life and what I’m hearing from my friends... I feel so bad for them because they are struggling so much and going crazy. |
Good for you and PP above for seeing the light. So pointless to run yourself ragged for 99% social distancing, when you could do 95% and be relatively stress-free. |
Think of the big picture.
If schools and camps dont open, that means the US is in deep shit. Many others will be in your shoes. Creative new solutions will arise. Neighbors taking turns, other stuff. |
