| Others are inducing so they can just get home with their babies before our hospitals look like italy |
| Other countries are trying it too. My friend just gave birth in Portugal. No partner allowed. |
| Bad move on the no partner. |
| As always women and children are at the bottom. |
Absolutely. Nurses are trying to push for partners in l/d at least. It's too much to do no partner in l/d and then no partner in postpartum. Especially since a lot of NYC hospitals no longer have nurseries. So baby rooms in with a mom who just had a traumatic experience |
It is for the safety of mom and babies as hard as it is to accept |
| Mom's are being tested before being admitted. If tested positive separated from baby for two weeks |
Well that’s probably a smart thing to do. |
| Its a safety issue, where is the issue? I'd rather be safe and have my baby safe than take a risk. |
Of course.but it's still traumatic to labor alone and deliver alone especially in this climate |
|
Damn. If they aren’t going to allow partners, will you get more nurses? Hah no I’m sure not. Who is going to get the baby for you when you’re in too much pain to walk? And who would be with you as I labor? I had a 30 hour hospital labor both times and I was alone the vast majority with only Dh. I can’t imagine doing it all alone.
Maybe they’ll let you escape after 6 or 8 hours instead of 24?? |
| I suspect we're going to have an uptick in L & D deaths and infections. |
|
Baby #2 is breech, and we are starting to talk scheduled C section. I was all prepared for sending DH home to take care of DD#1 after the delivery, especially when I assumed this would be a vaginal birth as well, but I can’t imagine having to go through a c section without his support. So many things can go wrong.
And I don’t consider a c section for breech to be elective. |
So sad

Apparently there will be a nurse assistant assigned to every 3-4 couplets. To help us not be alone the entire time but I'm doubtful about this. We're shit out if luck especially if there is no nursery |
