They would rather mooch off of guys. This isn't anything new. If women didn't care about money, tons of guys would be applying to work the drive thru at Taco Bell. |

If you look at university enrollment at the undergraduate level these days, most universities are about 60% female. So if a woman wants to marry a man who has also been to university, that's 3 women competing for 2 men. There have been many admirable efforts at universities to get more people of certain races to apply, and also to encourage more women to study STEM, but little to get men to apply to university. This is the result.

Women don’t have to marry, nor do men actually.
Marriage is down because it’s no longer necessary. |

How can this thread be a thing? You all are maybe the most frivolous, useless people that have ever trod upon the earth.
You must be the morons that populated that idiotic "Kane" thread, I'm sure. |
Have you considered dating older than late 20s? If you want children or see yourself wanting children in the future this is a kind of dangerous attitude to take. |
I'm just getting back into dating, but yes, I have my app 'preferences' set for mid 30s guys. |
It remains a class and income marker. |
Thanks for the laugh.

+1 I'm much older than you, but I felt the same way when I was single. I'm a pretty frugal person, so I am by no means materialistic. The only expensive jewelry I own are the ones my DH bought me. It's not always about materialism. Maternity leave in this country is crap. When I got pregnant, I took an extended maternity leave, and the only reason I could do that was because 1. I am a high income earner and I save a lot 2. DH is also a high income earner Years later, we were getting really stressed out with both of us working, so I took time off to reduce the stress in the house, and in particular, in the relationship. I offered to DH for him to be the sahp, but he declined, so I did. We could not have done this if DH did not make enough to support the family. IMO, most men do not want to be the sahp, running errands and cleaning the house. Not that a lot of women want to do it, but they are more willing, shall we say. I am back to work FT now and still make about the same as DH. |
