I almost got hit 3 times today

OP and in rereading my post I see I made an error in not being clear. I was in my car, not on foot.

Yeah take one for the team.

I've seen an increasing number of drivers apparently thinking that red lights are optional. Especially on controlled turns with a red arrow - they seem to think "red" means "yellow" now.

Do you think that overall heightened anxiety is causing people to be more distracted?

Nah. Its just drivers being drivers. You just got unlucky.

We probably need to reconsider building roads until the driver community can get all drivers to obey the law.

Employment demands in this area mean we have to stay connected. The "work-day" begins when you wake up around here.

Maybe you should invest in a high visibility pedestrian vest and a larger vehicle, OP.

Drivers in this area hit school buses. I guess they're not hi-vis/big enough?

Bus-riders can see when drivers are looking at their phones. And guess what, a whole lot of drivers are looking at their phones.

You can’t drive because you are thinking about the virus? The virus doesn’t drive a vehicle...

Whoosh! (I'm not the OP, BTW)

You must be new around here, DCUM abhors you if you have a vehicle larger than a Prius.

That's some final destination shit. You're about to die. Spend all your money and finalize your will before the end of the week.

Rest in peace OP.

People are driving badly today.

It's like they can't handle light rain and gray; I saw a SUV blow by me, stopped at a red light, and almost made a left turn into oncoming traffic. They stopped just before getting hit.

Everytime it rains or is gray outside here, same story. I really don't understand.

People around here are just terrible drivers. I see it everyday. The main road I drive is two lane 50 mph with no stop lights. People merging on at various points have a yield sign but they just continue without looking or stopping forcing the cars in main lanes to slow and yield or change lanes. This is not how it is supposed to work - cars in the main lane have the right away.

Yield means stopping if you have to.

I always yield in those types of situations and it never fails that the moron behind me leans on the horn.
