From unfortunately a LOT of experience - give it about 10-11 months. |
Police hate him! |
| My husband won this month when he disputed a ticket where the picture didn't match the stated location. It took several months to hear back, though. |
It is my understanding that the only reason that the points are not assessed for camera speeding tickets is they they can't prove who drove the car. If you go to court and admit you were driving and lose you could get points assessed. |
Unfortunately this isn't true as the citations are civic citations and not criminal but it would be nice if this happened. |

It wasn't recently but I got a camera ticket in DC and googled how to get out of a camera ticket. I was advised to protest the ticket if there was any part of another car in the picture, which there was. I wrote a letter stating that I knew I was driving the speed limit because I always drive the speed limit and the camera must have gotten the speed of the other car in the picture instead of mine.
It took months, maybe six to nine months, but I eventually got notified the ticket was dismissed. Don't know if this would still work. |
Do tell |
Is it really a judge that reviews the disputes? It's not an actual violation. A person commits a violation. The camera can't prove who the person was. I always imagined it was some low level paper pusher. |
| If there is more than one car in the photo/ video within 25 feet of your car the case can be dismissed |
Always driving at or below the speed limit. Now you know! |
| With all the bellyaching from the mayor about how remote work is hurting her city, these tickets for super minor infractions don't seem very inviting. |

No one has ever beaten a speed camera ticket in DC.
DC doesn’t allow electronic evidence of any kind to be presented. The fact that a citation was issued to you at all is prima facia evidence of guilt. You CANNOT beat a DC speed camera ticket, by design. |
Nope. That’s NOT how it works
Both are cited, and both will have to pay. |
