Anyone still rear face at 4+?

21:29 is right. Totally unnecessary. That said, my 10 year old rear faced in a Radian until she was almost 4.

I don’t think the issue is that cars and car seats have changed, it’s that people have realized that RF is a lot safer. The pediatrician would probably still say it’s ok to switch to FF after age 1 or by age 2 at least bc that’s the law most places but that doesn’t mean it’s the safest option.

They knew it back then as I have a 10 year old and we RF till 4. You could do it in the car seats back then. Lots of published studies especially out of Sweden but it was talked about heavily on the car seat websites and groups. How sad for your 10 year old you didn't value safety.

This is really uncalled for.

How is it uncalled for? That poster is making fun of someone RF beyond 12 months. Even back then while the APP didn't recommend it best practices was a minimum of two, max of 4, or until the child outgrew the seat (i.e 40 pounds and height). It shows the lack of safety or knowledge and most ped's sadly gives bad information.

Everyone who rides in a car is safer if they rear face.
At any age. Including adults.

But the driver can’t rear-face. And it’s hard to design the seats to allow adults to rear face.

When self-driving cars come (which won’t be soon) I expect all seats will have an option to rear face. It’s just safer.

My 4 year old is RF, Will flip Soon when she hits the weight limit.

The PP wasn't making fun of anyone. Where did you get that impression?

You are socially inept, at best, and a total bitch, at worst.

Read your post, you are socially inept if your only comment is to name call.

Your kids may not die in a car crash, but they will be raised to be insufferable a-holes with a mom like you.

Still rearfacing my newly 4 year old, at the very least until he starts complaining about it, hopefully until he hits the maximum height in a year or so.

I don’t feel sorry for the kids whose lives might be spared in a car crash when they are secured in the safest way possible.

If you want the safest possible, don’t even get on the road. Keep them locked in your home at all times.

“OK” might be good enough for you and your family, but some of us want the best option.

What's with the sanctimony? It was ten years ago.

You're well aware that you were being obnoxious, making fun of people who do the best thing for their kids and RF as long as possible.
