He’s all ready for prison now. What a waste of genetics. What is wrong with Cindy and Rande? Their kids - now adults - grew up privileged and are now a hot mess. One tries to look and sound like a street gangster, the other is vacant and anorexic. I just don’t get it.

I disagree with the bolded statements. Sometimes it has nothing to do with the parents or the upbringing.

Yeah, after spending the week trying to explain responsibility and priorities to my DS and watching him *still* choose chaos no matter what I say or do-- I'm not convinced that good parenting is the be all, end all of good decision-making.

So … you think he was BORN this way? Highly doubtful. I have worked for years with troubled and high risk kids. In the argument of nature versus nurture, I have yet to see a troubled or high risk child where the problem stemmed from nature. Certainly some of this young man's nature is exerting its influence but his parents had a responsibility to see and respond to this child's specific needs, and they failed in a very obvious way as he is demonstrating.

These situations are easier to understand if you take "parenting" and view it as a separate skill set that people either have or don't have, whether or not the parents are kind/productive/whatever in other aspects of their lives.

Every family has it hardships. I feel for Cindy today. No parent/mom wants this for her children. I wish them well.

Do you guys also blame parents when their kids commit suicide? Maybe you should spend some time with the many parents who spend years desperately trying to find hell for their kids’ mental heath issue. Therapy, medication, love, discipline, boundaries.....sometimes all of that only mitigates the problem, not cure it. I don’t know what’s going on with this kid or his parents.

If you click on the video at the bottom of the link Presley was
really, really, classically handsome. He must have been a minor in the video and too young for tatoos.

Is he in college or working?

I know this is not the case with Presley but typically the finger tatoos are done if you are in a lock down juvenile facility or in adult prison at 18. The finger tatoos are part of prison culture.

He really looks trashy.

Suicide is a separate issue. And sometimes, yes, it is a result of parenting or lack there of. Not every parent of a suicide victim was doing everything you listed to help their child.

Maybe he is tired of being known for his good looks. I’m not a shrink but that seems pretty obvious to me. He isn’t the first or last teenager to rebel against his parents.

Yep. Rebel against the privileged life. Boo hoo for him.

Obviously it’s drugs. Sucks. What a hot mess.

When you look so beautiful, writing on your face is a great way to rebel! It's not like he needs to interview for a job to pay his bills, so good for him.

In the Daily Mail article you can see the rest of his tatoos. He has a giant pot leaf on one hand. He has letters inked across the other fingers.
I know pot is legal in many states but tatooing a pot leaf on your hand reads as somewhat juvenile. The letters inked across fingers are prison type tatoos.

I'm guessing Randy's tequila business brings in pretty big money. Maybe Presley never has to work.

The funny thing about all the hens clucking here is that it's certainly possible that Cindy and Randy like the tattoo, and they all are fine with it.

I’d bet good money they don’t like that tattoo.
