Is my dog a genius?

Np. It's the bathtub part that is impressive. My dog, who is actually very smart, occasionally poops or pees in the house in the middle of the night, but infuriatingly, always goes on a rug. Our old dog never once went in the house, even when I was stranded by an ice storm an hour away for 24 hours. But he was dumb in other ways.

Nope. Mine holds it for even 48 hours and she's also bilingual.

My dog would have just woken someone up to take her out.

Sometimes a person in our house (DS13) will fart and try to blame it on someone else-- our little doggie detective prances over to the real culprit and outs them by sniffing their butt.

I think she is gifted.

My beagle will fart, sit up, smell his butt or the air, and then leave the area, which is his way of trying to blame it on a human.

Are you sure it wasn't your DD? Just kidding. Yes, your dog is a genius!

My dog did that once while we were at work and I was most impressed by his ability to get back OUT of the tub without stepping in the poop!

Yes that's good.
when our dog was a puppy and sleeping in a room off the kitchen they needed to go in the night and dragged an old towel to the back door and did it on the old towel

My parrot has been partly blind since hatching and she's definitely not a genius, maybe for genetic reasons related to the blindness or maybe because she's so timid and afraid to take risks.

But she's decided that "pretty bird" means "good morning!" and she says it to me every morning when I take her out of her cage.
