What a nasty thing to say to someone. |
No need to be such a witch. You do realize that is all some people can afford and to them, it is designer. You're exactly what's wrong with the world. You went out of your way to be completely nasty to someone who's asking for advice. Go away troll. -signed someone who actually wears designer but doesn't feel the need to be an asshole |

Don't wear nude hose with open toes shoes- ever. Yes you can tell even if the toe isn't reinforced. It looks terrible.
You need closed toed shoes OP, because you are wearing hose and it is winter. Get a patent leather pump- the best ones within your budget- the LBs someone linked are nice |
Those are beautiful shoes. Unless you're swimming in money, though, I wouldn't spend crazy sums on shoes you only wear occasionally. Call me a cheap mofo but my feet changed size in the last two years - hello, mid 40s - and all my beautiful shoes no longer fit. I would be even more upset if that included Louboutin's I'd only worn a couple of times. But that's me. I take zero pleasure in getting dressed up - I love clothes but hate fancy stuff - so for me it wouldn't be worth it. YMMV and hopefully does. |
Hate to break it to you, but patent leather is for summer, not winter (unfortunately, as it tolerates rain and salt so much better). Suede is for winter. Peau de soie is what one should wear for formal events. |
OP this should suffice for peau de sole https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/nina-nina60-pointy-toe-pump-women/5300649/full?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FShoes%2FHeels&color=black%20fabric |
| No open toe shoes. |
Those shoes might be nice to take the grand kids to the zoo but you’re not going to get any looks with a 2” heel. |
Not sure how old you are but rules like this don't apply in fashion anymore. |
All the advice on this thread is conservative. Maybe that's exactly right for OP's function. But elsewhere, there are lots of open toed shoes suitable for fancy events in winter, and there are people wearing stockings with them. |
Well, it’s almost 3 inches and as others have said it maybe a conservative event and op doesn’t want to look like a hooker. Another option op https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/nina-nina-85-pointy-toe-pump-women/5479758/full?origin=coordinating-5479758-0-2-PDP_1.PDP_1_INSIZE-recbot-visually_similar_type2&recs_placement=PDP_1.PDP_1_INSIZE&recs_strategy=visually_similar_type2&recs_source=recbot&recs_page_type=product&recs_seed=5300649 |
Patent is summer, but people are more fluid these days. I would never wear white in the winter but people do it. With that said, I have a pair of velvet louboutins for galas. I bought them 4 years ago. Best money ever spent. |
If you've got to wear "f me" shoes to get any looks, then you've got bigger problems. |
The patent for summer must be a regional thing (new england?). My family is Mediterranean, and I can tell you that patent (especially black patent) is considered a winter material. I honestly can't imagine wearing close-toed patent pumps in the summer -- they'll turn your feet into a sauna! Knee length dress, patent pumps, hose -- how is than anything but a winter outfit? |
Me too. Black patent pumps are my go-to holiday party shoes. I can’t imagine wearing them in the summer. I have some nude patent pumps I wear year round. It is so much more durable than suede, especially with wet winters sidewalks and slush/snow on the ground. |
