Gymboree is back. They've been bombarding me with emails. Go to their website and sign up for the mailing list. |
PP here, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone with the term "wider" - I honestly just couldn't think of a better word! I, personally, am short and wide myself, and my DD takes after her tall, thin father ![]() |
That's possible, or maybe the toddler leggings are a stretchier material. My DD was already in size 5 when we started buying them - the leggings I've bought her are thick and not super stretchy. Because she's so skinny, they fit more like ponte pants than leggings, which I LOVE. You should try their yoga pants if the legs are too slim, though. They're straight leg, not bootcut and would definitely work for boys. |
Yes these are great. But my main concern is they never have fun patterns. My DD loves a crazy legging covered in unicorns. So I buy the basic solid ones from LE, but she doesn't prefer those, so we still churn through the crazy unicorn ones from Carters that get holes immediately. |
Op here. My daughter’s favorite current pants are unicorn pants from carters. Someone gave them to her. They are not warm at all. That is what sparked this post in the first place. I wanted warm pants for her. I’m so glad Gymboree is coming back. I will check out lands end and Hanna Andersson. HA has never been my style but I will check them out for solids. DD is tall and slim. |
Hooray! |
The mailing list is full... but they do have a few “shop-in-shops” at Children’s Place Springfield and Potomac Mills. The site says February 2020, so I’ll keep an eye out... |
The bummer about the Gymboree relaunch is that it only goes through size 8. I have tall kids who are bigger than that while still young enough to love the Gymboree style.
We've filled in with a mish-mash of Cat & Jack, Lands End, and a tiny bit of Hanna, but it's not the same at all. I also do some used Gymboree via eBay. |
So is the plan to sell Gymboree clothing at children’s place? Or are they opening new stores? I feel like they just closed the stores like a year ago. Maybe less in those locations? I don’t see Gymboree in the directory. If they were opening in February, they would normally have Gymboree (coming soon). Why don’t they sell the clothes online? They should! |
I believe it will also be online, once it launches. They won't be opening new stores; it's a fully TCP-run thing now. |
Ahh ok so they will sell Gymboree items at children’s place. |
My 5-year-old has a pair of Cat and Jack (Target) fleece-lined leggings. They fit her well--she's slim, with a pretty small waist.
As for Gymboree, all I want is for them to bring back the pajamas with no changes to fit or fabric. |
i don't know! She's tall and thin, but both fit her well. HA sells slim leggings, but those are a little too tight on her. |
I love HA but I don’t think they sell fleece leggings. Theirs are high quality but not fleece. Cat and Jack’s leggings are not long lasting. It’s good for one season at most. |
I now you all are holding out hope for Gymboree, but I don't think the quality is going to be the same. They'll do what Hanna did - similar aesthetic, but cheaper quality. |
