How many hours a day does your high schooler take to do homework/study?

While it was originally described in relation to businesses, students are particularly susceptible because they
are less likely to have heard about it and even less likely to have the maturity to stick to self-imposed deadlines.

This is true and I’ve talked to my sophomore about this. He doesn’t get it yet. We try and encourage him to work quickly but it’s hard for him.

I also think kids get distracted by their phones. All the time.
Growing up, we had the 'no TV/talking with friends until homework is done' rule. My child doesn't have a phone yet, but when she does, I'm going to try to introduce a similar rule. But kids say they use chats to do homework together. Really?

Really. My oldest spent 3 hours on FaceTime last night studying with friends for an AP French test. They weren't entirely focused on french the entire 3 hours, but they wouldn't have been in person either. And I can promise you that at least for my child, that studying was more effective than 3 hours on her own.

True, but very hard to enforce because they have to use laptops and could be doing homework and socializing online at the same time.

I think my super lazy DC spend 30 min daily that actually focused on the school work , mostly fooling around on social media, YouTube, games etc etc
The bad thing is DC does all the fun things first and leave the actual 30 min work for late at night
