Considering a Westie as our new family dog...

My mom has a Westie and she is "ok" with my 4 and 2 year old, but not great. Jt's different than your situation b/c "Sophie" is not with my kids all the time. She occasionally growls or shows her teeth at my son, and she can be territorial when my mom pays attention to my kids. But she can also be very sweet with them. She's also not the most playful but I'm sure that's just her and not her breed. She's kind of a lap dog, but only with my mom.
