My betta fish is always hiding

We now have nano marimo moss balls and narrow leaf java fern, and our betta loves to rest on the moss balls and hide in/swim through the ferns. This is where I bought our plants:

The ferns came weighted down, which is good because we have a gravel bottom and I don't think the original plants did well with the gravel.


This is funny because we bough a plant from Petco about a month ago then last week noticed a tiny snail in the tank. DD is thrilled though and theres only one so no baby snails expected

Snails are hermaphroditic. You don't need two to have a snail population explosion. We felt the same way at first (Yay! Bonus snail!) and now we have to pick them out by hand.
