If 2 bedrooms are enough for you, there's this in Mt P:

If kids are really Spanish-dominant, kid #1 would most likely get in for PK3 and if kid #1 is in, in the past all IB siblings have gotten in for PK3 too.

YES. Exactly something like this. Thanks for all the replies, what I was looking for mostly was some first hand experience with these schools. Positive traits for Brancroft, Cleveland and the rest...

Powell and Bancroft and Bruce-Monroe and Marie Reed are stellar. Only flaw is the middle school and high school path. Cleveland has some cultura problems and a meh principal, it's not doing as well as other schools in the area. Tyler is fine from what I hear.

Nah, my MIL is nearby too, so we want something where she can get the kids in the PM instead of doing aftercare. I'm basically only looking West of 6th NW to around 29th and Calvert (because of Oyster).

We're at Bethune 16th St and there are many families that are there for Pre-K and inbounds for Deal feeders. The Spanish program is strong (mine is non-dominant bilingual) and we've been surprisingly happy there after bombing in the lottery. If you'd really choose a school based on pre-k3 availability, consider doing Bethune for a year or two until you can go in-bounds at OA or wherever you decide.

Bancroft has an amazing and driven PTO. And i've only heard good things about the school. (we ourselves are at Cooke)

Pleasantly surprised so far! but PK3 is fine everywhere I think. I do see how schools with bigger PTO budgets can provide more enrichment opportunities like afterschool clubs to upper elementary grades, so we will either grow our PTO enough to do same, or jump ship.

I'm the PP above - it is not immersion though! English only with a weekly spanish lesson.

If you are truly Spanish dominant there is a good chance you’d get into Oyster or Marie Reed even OOB, for PK3. Check the stats.

Bruce Monroe--She can only get in if she claims spanish dominance for her kids. IB english dominant kids are now waitlisted and at least 5 families IB I know did not get in this year for PK3

Bruce monroe or Powell. But thing is you might get into a good charter. I’d wait. You could get into Lamb, DCB, stokes and be set. Or even mundo Verde 8th. Then you can buy near that school fairly easily on your budget.
