If Charlie Sheen ever threatens me with a knife

You're not alone. ANd I can't stand the kid.

I think Charlie Sheen is pretty messed up. I bet his father is a bit embarrassed by his son. One time on the red carpet, I saw Rob Lowe and Martin Sheen chatting. Martin Sheen ran over to get Rob's attention simply to let him know that his son, Charlie, was now 'settled' and doing so well. Martin Sheen was gushing, he was so excited to tell Rob Lowe this piece of good news. Rob Lowe was so warm and polite with him and he said he was happy for Charlie. I guess Rob Lowe and Charlie Sheen were all part of that same age group of hollywood celebrities and perhaps there is a bit of competition between people in hollywood of the same age group. Anyhow, by then Rob Lowe was happily married, had children, had left his old sexual demons behind him for good, whereas Charlie Sheen is still plagued by his today. So - I think he's probably a bit of an embarrassment to his family. I feel badly for his father and even more so for him.

Let's be honest. Charlie Sheen is on a destructive path. Without serious intervention, he is going to seriously injure or even kill someone someday.

You're the reason why our brand of celebrity worship is so destructive. If people could unplug their gooey brains from the TV for a minute and think, hey, I don't want to support this kind of behavior, so I will stop watching this sitcom/ cheering for this sports team/ buying this band's CDs... maybe there would be some pressure on the big brass to cut off the criminals and throw them out on their asses. But for every idiot who says "yeah, Joe Quarterback precipitated a brawl involving handguns at a nightclub, but he sure can throw!" that's one more rea$on for the money-makers to tolerate and protect the thugs.

or....I'm just capable of separating reality from TV. I watch shows for the talent on the show, not the personal life of the actor.

If Charlie Sheen ever threatens me with a knife, I'll know I've finally made it in this crazy town called Hollywood.

I like Martin Sheen and I admire him for being in recovery for alcoholism but when I see his kid acting like this I wonder how dysfunctional Charlie Sheen's family was growing up. Then again my dad quit drinking when we were in high school and my bro didn't finally get into recovery until he was in his 40s....so I guess it's true that alcoholism/drug addiction is cunning, baffling, and powerful. Must be hard for Martin to watch what Charlie is doing with his life.

Didn't Martin show some tough love and turn Charlie in on a parole violation?
