Super bowl birthday party a bad idea?

THIS!

I'm not spending Super Bowl Sunday at a kid's party. When I spend it at a friend's house, it's with the expectation that their kids will entertain themselves in another room somewhere.

Yep, this. The game is on a Sunday starting at 6:40 so that doesn't work for a toddler party. Just have the party earlier in the day.

We wouldn't mind at all if you had the party during super bowl game but we are not sports people

It was NOT a party for me and I did not invite friends and other attendants weren’t expected to bring me gifts. I didn’t usually have a birthday party with friends anyway so it was fine to me to have cake and everyone sing happy birthday at halftime. The other guests didn’t seem to mind and ate the cake.

I definitely wouldn’t invite other kids and turn the super bowl party into an actual birthday party. As an adult who loves football now—I don’t want much distraction during the actual game play time.

Same. Especially if the Ravens are playing!

I am a Ravens fan—so definitely!!

If toddler party means -- you have cake along with all the other food, sure. If it means they must sing happy bday to your kid who must then cut the cake and have a photo opp -- ok fine but you're pushing it so make sure to make it quick and either during pregame or half time. If it means that you're thinking -- oh there's so much food and everyone just wants to have fun, I'm going to invite his 20 toddler besties from preschool along with one parent each and do the standard pizza/cake party and it'll be great bc our super bowl friends can partake in it and/or the toddlers' parents can wander in and watch the game -- oh HELL NO. Please tell your super bowl friends if option 3 is what you're planning so they can find other plans.
