It's run by Coach Galanis. It's been a little while but at the time, you had to submit a video of your child and be accepted to attend. Players were divided based on skill level. It was actually longer before (it was all day), but it's still a respectable length now. When we went, it was very well run and technical

Thanks PP! The link didn’t come through. Are you able to resend it please?

Sure, I don't know what happened. As back up, here's the main page:

Let's see if this works: http://www.universalsocceracademy.com/training/summercamps-1/championscamp

It's called the Champions Summer Skills camp.

If your 13 year old is good, his club team should be doing at least a week somewhere.

Any good options for younger players? Rising 4th grader looking for a soccer camp. We have never done an overnight camp before, but might be open to it if it were highly recommended and local enough for a first time try.

We had luck with the Dutch soccer camps run locally over the summer. Good instructors. Not too $$$. Day camp only.

I'm not being snarky, just wondering if there is a reason you chose DC. Maybe you will be here, family, etc, but if you are just looking for a camp, somewhere, anywhere--have you considered going overseas? This Summer is the Euro 2020 in Europe and there are a number of programs running camps + going to matches. Quite a fun way to spend the Summer and seeing top flight football in Europe is a lot better than two-a-days in the heat of D.C.

That’s very interesting! How do I find out more about the programs offered?

I know these guys run a program

http://amsportstours.com

They often allow individual players to join teams that come over en masse.

Not sure about this list but quite a few teams here:

We found their Frostburg camp depressing and a waste of time.

Anyone else know of other residential camps for a rising U13. Out of the blue my DS is asking to go to one for a week during the summer...i think he needs a break from his parents..LOL. I dont mind sending him if its of decent quality..i know a week isnt going to make a long term difference in skills but if he learns a couple new things I see that as a plus.

Has anyone sent their young daughters to these camps? How was the development compared to other camps?

The Brazilian camp over in palisades is a good camp. Specially for girls.
