kids sick but what about adult sick?

I go in with colds if I'm feeling OK enough to get through the day. Fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, I will call out sick, or a cold that has me feeling really bad. I have tons of saved sick leave so that's not even a consideration, it's just that it's so annoying to miss things and fall behind when I have to be out so I don't like to do it if I don't have to.
