Do you like your MDX?

We looked at them -- the gas mileage on the Acura's sucks. I just cannot get with it... If a gas engine can't get an average of 30 mpg, then I'm not buying it.

What 7 seater gas engine SUV gets 30mpg? Do tell.

I think the new Highlander Hybrid gets over 30 mpg

Yes, we have a 2017 MDX and we love it. We have a toddler and we usually have the 3rd row down and keep her stroller there. On occasion we use the 3rd row when we have visitors, it's nice to have as an option. We wanted to purchase the model with the entertainment package but opted not to because the entertainment system requires DVD's only, and didn't support other forms of playing movies, this was very disappointing considering the the Honda Pilot has more advanced entertainment tech.

OP here. We will get the entertainment system. Could you explain what is different in the Pilot’s system? I don’t really want a Pilot but you have intrigued me.

Why can’t you just use iPads for when you need to watch movies in the car?

Terrible carsickness in one of my children. She can’t watch iPads but ceiling TV’s work. We discovered this accidentally in a rental.

It's possible that Acura has improved the entertainment system in the MDX, when we were in the market for one the only option for playing movies through the built in entertainment system was with DVDs, but with the Pilot you had other options, I think is USB drive was one of them, I am not completely sure. It wasn't enough for us to choose a pilot over the MDX, but we would have preferred something that didn't require DVDs. We opted out of the entertainment system with the MDX and use an iPad for long travel.

FWIW, I do love our MDX.

Any 2016-current MDX owners have feedback on transmission or other issues? my research shows mixed reviews on this.

We love ours! My husband’s only complaint is gas mileage combined with premium fuel.

OP here. The premium fuel is optional, not required.

Thanks all!
