Here are the things that really helped me - drink a HUGE glass of water before eating. It really does help. Have a salad or major mound of vegetables with every meal. Skip bread as much as possible. Eat protein with every meal, it keeps the hunger away longer. Dont eat just because its "meal time", only eat if you are truly hungry and drink a big glass of water first to make sure its not thirst. Do not eat between meals. I struggle with night time cravings that arent real hunger and that comes down to self control and will power plain and simple. I still struggle with it but know I can beat it. If I gain a little weight back I wear pants that are a bit tihht to remiond myself. Yoga pants or sweat pants make it too easy to ignore the added tummy bulge.

Here's the deal, ladies: The more lean muscle mass you have the more efficient your body is. So you can eat more (healthy as usual) and burn off more calories.

So I wouldn't put exercise and silliness in the same sentence.

But, you don't NEED to exercise to lose weight AND factually, exercise increases hunger.[/

Jillian would be completely offended by your remark! I only hope she doesn't read this forum.

I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous.

I find what helps me (I do WW) is to eat some kind of "no-point" food at every meal if possible -- a huge portion of steamed broccoli at dinner, or berries at breakfast, etc. If you have a big appetite (like I do), figure out what kinds of food you can eat in decent serving sizes and do that.

I have a hard time when I make a pan of lasagna and then am only supposed to eat a tiny portion of it. So I avoid making meals like that as much as possible.

I drink 6 to 8ozs hot water and lemon juice just like hot tea without the tea. It takes away my cravings to munch.

When I was losing weight (for a wedding)...I would chug diet green tea everytime I was hungry. <3 It worked like a charm!

I am a vegetarian, so to prevent eating, I make my son & husband a healthy - MEATY meal - that way I can only eat the salad, and I add some tofu chicken on top to get my protein. It's awesome!

I snack on baby carrots, grape tomatoes, and cucumbers when I'm preparing dinner/feeding baby. Sugar-free hard candies when I am dying for sweets and would otherwise binge on anything in the house - the candy keeps my mouth busy long enough for the cravings to pass.

There's nothing wrong with eating. It's good for you! I agree with those who say eat protein, healthy fats and fiber to fill you up...they help keep you full longer because they take longer to digest. Snacking...veggies, fruits (before 5 pm) and nuts like almonds or cashews. Cashews are a great source of healthy fats...just portion them correctly so you don't eat 400 calories worth.

I get hungry a lot, even though I know (and my weight demonstrates!) that I really don't need more food. One thing I do, is just consciously tell myself "its okay to be a little hungry until dinner" or "until lunch" or whatever. As long as I can still concentrate and focus and I am not being a royal B to everyone I know, its really okay to feel a little hungry until your next meal comes.
