| Thank you all for taking the time to come up with great ideas. I am in the process of getting his house assessed for safety concerns. Will look through other suggestions. Bless you guys. |
My parents have an Amazon Echo with Echo Dots in different rooms. It's voice activated, they just have to say "Alexa, call 911". No fees, just plug in, set up to use. We also like the Echo's "drop in" feature. We can drop in and talk to them; they don't have to rush and pick up the phone. The Amazon Show Echo has a video function, so it's basically Face Time using the drop-in feature. |

My Mom uses Lifeline (https://www.lifeline.philips.com/)
They've been great. She used it just this fall when she fell and they got the emergency services there instantly and notified all her kids right away also. My mother also erroneously triggered it one when it was in her purse and it got hit and she unwittingly triggered a major alert when she didn't respond to their call. So we've had more than one occasion to test the responsiveness and have been pleased. Any product is only as good as the individual's willingness to wear it though - so they actually have it on them when/if they get hurt. Though you can get wall mounted options also and have those in multiple rooms (which we're currently doing for my mom). It's a tough thing OP. Good luck. |
