New partner track role--need to dress "rich"

Watch early seasons of House of Cards and Veep.

Jil Sander, Reiss, and what you described all work. Tone on tone with high quality designers.

The Nordstrom personal shoppers don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground.

I work in Big 4 consulting in Finance, and let me tell you, the Director/Partner track women are not super well put together. Their personal lives are falling apart (men and women both) and their appearance is also slightly disheveled. Maybe its a different story at McKinsey or something, but if you're at the PWCs of the world you've nothing to worry about.

Bergdorf Goodman also has personal shoppers.

Being hypergroomed is also a key aspect of the rich look you describe. Surprised nobody's mentioned Suits for outfit inspo, though it is mostly dresses on there...

I LOVE the dresses worn by the women on Suits. Anyone recognize the designers?

They wear a lot of Roland Mouret dresses on Suits...

Reiss is a good high street label alternative to Mouret.

+1 For many women this is a straight sleek bob. Marissa Mayer, Nancy Pelosi, Ginny Rometty, Anna Wintour, Katie Couric, all wear some variation of this, with the color and bangs and all that depending on your face shape.

NP here. If you could comment on jewelry for this look, that would be great. Thanks!

I think that's a little more individual. Christine Lagarde and Indra Nooyi wear all kinds of bright scarves, for example. Nancy Pelosi wears some bold chunky necklaces, big stone beads, that sort of thing. Some don't wear jewelry. I think the main thing is to avoid anything too obviously trendy and go for things that are more unique and individual.

PP here. I didn't mean you should avoid things like classic pearls because they aren't "unique." I just mean you should avoid something very obviously trendy with a younger group that you would see on the Instagram set.

Very well groomed (Brows, manicures, haircut)
Keep color up if you do
Classic make up that looks like very little
Classic jewelry (diamond studs, a good watch). Don’t wear a lot if accessories
An exceptional bag and shoes but no logos
Side leg pants great on tall women
Pencil skirts if slim Otherwise slim slightly above knee
Be careful with turtlenecks can draw too much attention to chest
Yes silk blouses
Skirt suites and pants suits in black, charcoal, dark brown
A good coat
No perfume or very light
A few interesting pieces (interesting bracelet ,scarf etc )
I’d do cashmere crew necks with pencil skirts and heels instead of turtlenecks

+1

And a big ol’ LOL at OP being sure she’s on the partner track.

I was just about to make the same suggestion. I love their structured wool dresses. I have a bunch of Roland Mouret dresses that I wear at work - they look great but are very expensive and not as comfortable as the Fold.
