Tell me where you love to shop!

OP: Tell us a bit about your lifestyle, figure and what you like to wear now. May give us all some ideas of where to suggest. For me, I am 5'8, average weight, smaller on top, small waist, larger in the bottom and thights. I am almost 40. I am a SAHM to early elem. aged children. I like:

JCrew for cashmere, boot cut cords, tshirts, sometimes coats, jeans
Anthropologie: unusual tops
Loehmans: bags and shoes , sometimes cocktail wear, check out coats too
Burberry outlet for coats/Jackets
Saks outlet/Neimans/ dresses, pants, accesories, shoes
Nordstroms or Bloomingdales: great fitting bras
Old Navy: tshirts; jeans sometimes
Denim Bar: Jeans or Filenes/Loehmans
South Moon Under: random sweaters or tops but huge mark up
Throw on dresses in the summer from JCrew, Gap, Old Navy, Outlets, Forever 21 (if not skimpy)
Boots: Nordstroms
Target: a little mix and match
Barneys Coop: investment sweater or interesting dress
Mustard Seed in Bethesda (consignment)
French Sole: ballet flats (can buy in Bethesda at a store whose name I can't remember-- near Redwood)

I no longer like Ann Taylor or Banana Republic much-- the merchandise is just not that great anymore

Sometimes I like Loft for a casual dress or other simple things if they are cut well, size down one size at least

I guess I like to shop. . . .

PP here. If you are working and need suits: I liked Theory outlet a lot when I was working. Some Ann Taylor, some Neimans type suits on sale. Buy great, fun shoes to go with the more boring dc suit look. Carry a good bag.

To the poster who asked about jeans that won't sag in the butt:
I have a pair from the Lucky store, they are awesome. My one and only good pair of jeans. I tried on different fits. The worker helped alot. She even recommended a smaller size since they stretch. This was about 3 years ago, and they still look great!

Ok, I'll just answer your question! I applaud your accomplishment and your idea of awarding yourself!!!
My faves are:
Anthropologie (you can find great stuff on sale!)
JCrew
The Gap
Loehmann's
BCBG (love their dresses..really flattering to curvy shapes)
I am obviously not into too many fancy clothes, but I do have favorite designers like Diane Von Furstenberg and BCBG for nicer things.
Enjoy!!

meant to say "rewarding yourself". Brain's fried from all the holiday prep.

I'd go to the Denim Bar and have a fitting for the perfect pair of jeans. They carry tons of jeans to fit every body.

I have generally loved Ann Taylor Loft but agree with one of the PPs that their recent few seasons have not been great, imo. But worth checking out.

I really like J.Crew for some classics: cashmere, blouses, etc. You can get some good, neutral interchangeable pieces there.

LOVE Anthropologie. VERY Cute stuff. And, I do also like Benetton still. And, second whoever said the Burberry Outlet at Leesburg.

I, personally, would stay away from places like Express and Forever 21 unless you are pretty young (not sure your age).

Online, I really love Boden. And for casual: Title Nine, Athleta and Lulu Lemon (though I think they have a G-town store).
