Is Badlands too far from D.C. for a birthday party?

We live in DC and have been to a couple birthday parties at Badlands, but they've all been for Maryland kids we know, not any of DD's DC friends.

I think it could be tricky for some folks to make it, since it requires a car, which a lot of people living in the city don't actually have. It also really depends on where you live in the city. We live in Mt. Pleasant and it's a 35-45 minute drive for us, which we are happy to do for a good friend of DD's but probably wouldn't be as happy to do for Ava R., random classmate. If we lived on the Hill or anywhere further south than maybe U Street, I don't know that we would even go for Ava G., BFF.
