Well they did finish 3rd out of 8 teams across two brackets. There was only one final.

So FCV 07 did not even make the finals and the overall winner is an 8th place team with a losing ECNL record that even VDA beat this fall.

Conclusion - FCV 07 DA is a bad team

Just a clarifying remark here....the NCFC team that won the bracket here isn't the (8th place) NCFC ECNL team that you are referring to above....that team was in bracket #2 (Under 13 Girls Elite White) and went 1-2 in bracket play. The NCFC team that won the top bracket might be a DA team? I wasn't sure that was possible though (having both a DA team and an ECNL team at the same club).

Arlington 07 DA was second place in the other bracket with the actual Champion. I guess they could claim 3rd place given that their bracket was stronger. LOL @ FCV.

“Even VDA beat...”? Considering VDA tied McLean during season play and holding their own in the ECNL....I wouldn’t be surprised about any VDA wins. Loudoun, McLean, FCV girls have been together for years and have the benefit of familiarity which has carried them to this point.

This is how final standings are done in showcase tournaments, where there are no semis or finals at all.

It disrespected Arlington who were in the bracket with the Champs and thus had a harder schedule. Points are not all equal if you don’t play the other bracket.

Points therefore do not matter for overall standings when you don’t play the other bracket. That’s why tournaments have semi finals. Without semis there is a Champion and a Finalist/Runner Up and that’s it. FCV messed this up.
