+1. Super classic but I don't hear them as often as Elizabeth or Katherine. |

Elizabeth and Claire are my favorites from this list.
Ellen is at the very bottom of this list and Jennifer is only slightly higher. |

1969 Jennifer here to say that I love my name. Love all of the names, but Laura is tough because of its uneven pronunciation. I personally say LOR-ah, but I often hear LAH-rah, or other forms. It’s like Eric...some say AIR-ic, some say EH-ric, etc. Just a thought.
Happy naming! |
The only name I really like on your list is Elizabeth. The others are OK but Elizabeth is excellent. |
Same. |

Anna |
| Don't care for Laura or Ellen. Like all the others. Katherine very overused in the last 15 years, though. |
I'm a 1976 Laura, and have had no trouble with people mispronouncing my name. 99.9% of the time people get it right (LOR-ah; LAH-rah is spelled Lara). I love my name: it's strong and classic and not often heard. Anna is great, too. |
^^Meant to say, not often heard for babies and kids these days. I know plenty of fellow adult Lauras!

Here are my thoughts:
Laura - I like it. Ellen - I love it. It’s a classic that isn’t currently very popular. Katherine - I like it. Kate and Katie are great nicknames. Jennifer - I don’t like it at all. Unlike your other choices, which are all classics, Jennifer is REALLY popular among women born in the 70s and 80s but not outside of this time period. For babies born now, it definitely will be a “mom name” and will sound very dated. Elizabeth - I love it. It’s one of the most classic female names. Although there are lots of Elizabeths, the nickname options make it unique. Betsy is my favorite. Claire - I like it, but LOVE Clara. I also like Claire as a middle name with some of your other choices. Anna Claire and Elizabeth Claire both flow well. Anna - I love it. It’s a classic that currently doesn’t seem to be that popular. I also like Annabelle (nn Anna). |
| All except ellen- reminds me of Ellen DeGeneres who I can't stand. Elle would be cute though. |
I have a 4 year old Ellen. Have never met another younger than 40-50 ish. However- if you want to avoid popular, people often try to nickname her Ellie, which is SUPER popular. |
| Ellen, Elizabeth, and Anna are my favorites. |
