Most will see first quarter senior year, particularly ED. |
|
Some colleges request first quarter for ED/EA, but not all high schools have quarter grades. Many only have semester grades, in which case the college does not get any senior grades prior to the ED/EA mid-December results.
Many colleges require a mid-year report (with semester grades) even for ED/EA accepted students (as well as RD), but not all colleges require this for their ED/EA accepted students. |

Do MCPS mid year reports sent to RD colleges include both quarter grades or only one semester grade? Would an A and C show up or just the B average?
Wondering what it looks like in general and if counselors have the opportunity to write anything at that point. |
Colleges also don't know if one school curves their test and project grades and another doesn't. MCPS doesn't curve. |
I don't think our MCPS school sent first quarter grades to DC's REA school. |
Ours doesn’t send them. Regular report cards just show semester grades. However, not sure if first two quarters show up for college mid years. |
| Learned after the fact that a number of highly ranked colleges informally requested that our private send the first quarter grades of EA/ED applicants, even though it is not a formal requirement listed on their websites. |
