Why do salespeople pushing leasing?

But if you lease an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) car now, in 3 years, electric cars are likely to be more common so the depreciated ICE is not your responsibility anymore.

Wow that is really interest data.

The tax code completely props up the luxury market - Audi, Mercedes, BMW. People lease because they can deduct the payments against the income of their business. If the US government eliminated the deductions for car lease payments - or capped the amount of the deduction - I think you'd see a radically different car market in this country.

Or, leasing is for people who want flash but don't have cash. Miami, not surprisingly, is the largest market for leased luxury vehicles. The leased vehicles that the SAHMs drive--not a business deduction. Companies that require driving for their employees will have leasing deals with dealerships. People who are buying for the latest technology, I can see the wisdom of leasing. But leasing a normal, luxury SUV for non-business purposes? It's a bad financial move.

Do you know how many SAHM's are on the payroll of their husband's company? A lot. I guarantee that their leased Denali or X7 is run through DH's business. We know a lot of people who do this. The DW has some nominal job for the company and takes a salary.

It's very common and the IRS has no capacity to run this down. It's pretty easy to manage even when you're audited.

We buyers love leasers! You lease for three years and then we get to buy an almost new car for 65%. Thank you!

Leasee’s get to pay the depreciation on cars forever while the car is losing most of its value!
