Getting baby sex results from NIPT - dumb question

So I knew first and told my husband. This was a change from 2017 when a genetic counselor called me to tell me all was fine with the test (and was disappointed when I didn’t want to hear the results).

Word of caution, be very careful with the anatomy scan readout on KP.org. I didn’t want to know with my son and “genitalia appears male” was listed right on the report.

NP. I didn't find out the sex either time and Kaiser was excellent about not telling me. My anatomy scan/NT and NIPT did not say the sex.

To hijack a bit: for this baby we've agreed to not find out the sex (dh's preference, I got my way last time). During the scans, do they tell you to turn away if you can see something? Is it possible I can look closely and try to guess?

Pp here. We had to turn away for about 5 minutes during the anatomy scan. During the prior scans we couldn’t tell anything. We didn’t have later ultrasounds. We only wanted to see the baby’s face so we were okay turning our faces. For consistency both times the ultrasound tech said they were going to use the male gender the entire time.

My first baby was high risk and they didn’t slip up.

OP here - wanted to close the loop in case anyone is interested in how this went down with Kaiser - got my results six days after the bloodwork was done. My doc emailed me with the results in an email where the subject line said "genetic testing and gender" so I'd know what I was getting when I opened it!

It's a boy!
