We watch Blackish and love it. We also watch Grownish and love it.
Mixedish, on the other hand, does not seem to be of the same quality as the other two, so we gave it a try, but aren’t really watching it. It almost seems to be meant for little kids, which is fine, but just doesn’t appeal to me as an adult. |
| DH, DD, and I watch Blackish. DD watches Grownish. I don’t think any of us have seen the new show. We are AA. |
| I watch and love these shows. I’m south Asian. |
| I’m black and my family loves Black-ish. We watch it and Mixed. My 12 yo records them all and rewatched them. There is usually a moral compass shared with each show. Comedy, clean fun and a practical lesson. I’m happy with it. |
| I watch all the -ish shows. Black American. They remind me of home, my family, my younger years. |
| White lady and I love Blackish. Esp Charlie. |
| I’m waiting for Whitish to premiere. |
Feel free to go make that happen dude. |
Or just watch all the thousands of shows that aren't Blackish and Mixedish. |
Lol it already did...Friends, Seinfeld...the list is endless! |
| I watch Blackish because I think it is smart and thoughtful. I also watch Grownish but mostly because my teen daughter likes it. I can't do Mixedish too many 'ish' shows for me. |

Gen-x white woman here who really likes Blackish. Oddly, my whiter-than-white boomer dad (Trump voter!) got me into it. I find the writing fresh in a way that most shows can't nail. It consistently hits that sweet spot of sometimes laugh-out-loud funny (Charlie) and informative. They tackle really important subjects with grace and humor. The "Lemonade" episode following Trump's election was one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen in how it tackled why people voted the say they did.
I find Grown-ish tiresome at times because the main character (Zoe) can be so shallow and self-absorbed. The supporting cast is pretty good, though. never seen Mixed-ish. |
Seinfeld, Friends, etc. Where have you been? |

We're a mixed race family. We love Blackish. It works for the same reason any family comedy works. The black aspect is just the structure, not what makes it work (which is family dynamics, which are universal IMO).
We were really looking forward to Mixish but it's plain not funny. Too bad. |
| I like Black*ish but haven't been able to get into Mixed*ish. I'll give it a few more weeks. |
