We did $18 for one and now $20 for two. We're in DC proper and out kids are quite young (6 months and 3 years), and our sitters are older and more experienced. Once my kids are more self sufficient I'd love to find someone younger and cheaper, but for now, the peace of mind knowing my kids are ok is worth the extra money to keep my sitters happy and available.
We also provide dinner and offer an Uber home. |
$20/hour for one child without sn (awake or asleep) or one child with sn who sleeps the whole time. $25 for two kids without sn or one child with mild sn who is awake at least part of the time. $30 for 3 kids, 2 kids with mild sns, or a child with more impactful sn who needs more care/attention. $35 for 4+ kids or one of my former nanny families who has 3 kids with sn (if there are three kids with sn, the kids need to know me and trust that I love them and I’ll take care of them, so it’s limited to current and former nanny families). It does mean I sometimes provide a range to parents of kids with sn and a final cost when they get home, but they are more than happy to work with me and have a discount if their child(ren) sleep(s) through the time. 4 hour minimum, if return is after midnight, they pay my Uber. |
$12-$14/hour. I put the kid to bed and leave, and babysitter sits on the couch playing on her phone. There may be one wake up requiring redirection back to bed, but usually all is quiet. |
My time is my time, whether or not your child is awake or asleep. Perhaps this is why you’re having trouble finding help. |
