Gets rid of a large percentage of headers, but doesn't fundamentally change the game.

agree and 9 times out of ten it doesn't go where they want it to and that is at the top levels. Step back control the ball and move on.

Maybe you're watching different soccer than I am, because headers are generally well directed at the pro level. In any event, it's part of the game. If you don't like the risk, don't play the game.

Same could have been said before they mandated shin guards. If you don't like the risk, don't play the game. But they didn't. They changed the rules for player safety.
Same could have been said about violent tackles from behind. If you don't like the risk, don't play the game. But they didn't. They changed the rules for player safety.
Same could have been said about stopping play for head injuries. If you don't like the risk, don't play the game. But they didn't. They changed the rules for player safety.

Soccer didn't have goalies originally. Then they had goalies who could go all over the field.
Soccer didn't have substitutes originally. Then they changed it and allowed three.
Soccer didn't have a penalty box originally. Then they changed it too.

Sports is a living thing. It's not static. I know you long for something like "Old Time Baseball" or the such but Field of Dreams was a movie, and just like that, the idea that a sport can't change the rules is pure fantasy.

For real. This online campaign that gets revived every 6 months or so is nauseating.
