Time to talk to their psychiatrist to readjust actual medications. If sleeping is an issue try melatonin/bedtime tea/and or meditation.

Don't take it long term as there are links between long-term Benadryl use and dementia.

My aunt's sister took Benadryl for years to help with allergies and had early-onset dementia. She started losing the ability to recall nouns at the end of words at 51 and it progressively got worse. She died so young and awful at 54.

... Recall nouns at the end of sentences is not nouns at the end of words.
