Yes, this. I know lots of liberals who own pickups. They are not driving giant, never-been-dirty pickups to their office jobs. If they have a second car, they will drive it instead of the pickup if the pickup isn't needed (because gas mileage) but not all of them have a second car. |
Have you always been an ass, or is this a recent transformation? |
I had NO IDEA PG County was red. https://www.baltimoresun.com/opinion/editorial/bs-ed-1111-turnout-20181107-story.html
Oh - And I live in Frederick, and it's pretty much split, with Ind at a little under 8%. sorry you can't find your brain, OP |
| Liberal here with a pickup truck. |
Haha, you just described me. Alexandria, liberal, own two cars (large pickup and a Corolla). The Corolla goes to work. |
| PP here. The pickup gets used because I have a hobby that requires it and my family lives out in the country on several acres and I help them out a lot. |
| I have a cheap second or n-th hand pickup I use to haul mulch and gardening supplies. Does that qualify? |
This. They are crunchy tradesmen/women, not driving "lifestyle" pickups compensating for something. |
|
| Not in my neck of the woods |
My conservative neighbor has one of those 70,000 dollar flashy ford pickups to a white collar job and has never hauled anything more than golf clubs, I bet he has never used AWD or the hitch. A liberal in my neighborhood uses his silverado for projects a lot (he’s really into diy) and hauls stuff. But he also has a small Subaru for other things. |
| No liberals ever drive pickups. |
| I’m contemplating the Gladiator. Does that count? |
Yep. Lifelong liberal who has a pickup to tow my horse trailer. |
|
Certainly less often than conservatives!
"If there are more sedans, [a neighborhood] probably voted Democrat (88% chance), and if there are more pickup trucks, it probably voted Republican (82% chance)," the study found, using voting data from the most recent presidential election. https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Is-your-neighborhood-full-of-pickup-trucks-You-12393301.php |
