Meghan and Harry file major lawsuit against British press

I cannot WAIT until Daily Mail editors and staff have to take the stand. None of those underpaid reporters are going to risk jail and lie to cover up their upper-class bosses agenda (Daily Mail is owned by a billionaire Viscount - in other words, the Turnip Toffs run it).

Which means every detail of not only what they paid Thomas Markle will come out for the lying schemer he is, but also certain 'alliances' will be fully public.

Its on.

Good for them—and dang, that is one cute baby!

That was a great statement-- very powerful and also revealed their feelings of vulnerability.

Please let that courtroom be public.

This is an interesting move by the sussexes. I wonder if this will result in the tabs backing off or going full force. Is this only for the British tabloids or all of them? And how will this work when they actually want media coverage?

It's specifically a lawsuit against the Daily Mail which is the largest tabloid of them all. I believe the strategy is win against them, and the others will back off. Not that any, except the Sun, are half as vicious as the Mail.

As for media coverage - the Sussex don't need them? They've managed huge projects successfully without a finger lifted by the media.

This just being an example - Meghan's Vogue magazine not only sold out...everywhere, but its selling for 6X the price of a regular purchase, her capsule collection - same, her cookbook - same. Every project exceeds expectations.

She and Harry have a 9.6 million Instagram follower count, a new website (apparently), an exclusive TV show via Apple in 2020, and the American press behind them full force.

The idea of them needing the British media is laughable.

I love this! It's been awful watching an American princess be bullied day in and day out. Disgusting behavior.

This seems to suggest that there is indeed a rift between the brothers and the media has chosen a side, with William's (at least tacit) consent.

If this is true, William is a despicable human being. Harry is his baby brother and the two of them have been through so much together. I can't imagine waging a global campaign of bullying against a sibling because he's more likeable and his wife is hotter.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out given the number of items that MM and PH have planted in the media themselves. Can't have it both ways.

Sure you can. One is defamation. The other isn't.

Is the same person just responding to this thread saying the same thing? Team Sussex? Sounds like junior high.

MM always needs to play the victim - first it was her dad, now the media. The other royals have endured bullying (Sarah, Charles, even Kate) by the media and somehow got through it without whining. You’re a public figure- you can’t force everyone to be nice.

Well, it suggests that Harry feels hurt. But beyond that? William tried to deal with a scandal in the media and it didn't go well. Maybe he's learned the wisdom of his grandmother.

What defamatory statements have been made, exactly? That some of her clothes cost as much as a condo in fly over country? That she has a family of deadbeats? That she writes inspirational quotes on bananas?

Remember all the crappy people waging on Archie's looks? Light skinned, dark skinned, they were hiding his face, yeh, shut up!

Protect their hearts, Harry. Statement was impeccable.
