DD size 6 (what comes after 5T) wants tie dye

I’m with OP. I buy tie dye. Everything about Michaels / Hobby Lobby is a type of commercialism I have no interest in supporting. Most of Etsy falls into that bucket for me.

Thanks, but that's REALLY not for us. What is easy or fun for one person may be difficult and a terrible chore to get through for another, and this falls into that category for us.

I used to feel like this and we didn’t tie dye until my oldest was 9 after she kept begging to but I thought it’d be way too messy and hard but it really is super easy. The kits they sell now make it especially easy with all the dye colors , gloves, rubber bands, etc. We just set down a large trash bag on the table and got to work, it really is one of the easiest things I’ve done with my kids of any project or crafts.

Well, I don't have a table. We eat on the loveseat because it's that, the floor, or the bed we share. Hopefully that gives you an indication of where my life is so you can understand that "easy" means different things for different people.

I was mostly responding to the poster saying they felt bad for your child. I was just saying it does look intimidating but it really isn’t. And yes , I can’t buy my kids anything from Lands End, so it was the $7 tie dye kit from Walmart or nothing.

How is DIY commercialism but buying the Sam product that others made not commercialism?

I'm sorry, I dont want to derail OPs thread but I thought the sizes went like this:
2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, 4, 6, etc etc. Is that not the case? My almost 4 yo is wearing 5T. The pants are mostly a little long but the 4 or 4s all looked even bigger.

For sizing - the 4s are longer and narrower than the 5T. So if you need length then 4s/5s/XS work. If you are out of 5T due to girth (need a better term...) 6s are the next step.

You can do it entirely on the floor. I bet your daughter would love it.

Seriously we did it in bathroom floor with my 5yo son. Bought a $6 kit and white tee and a few splotches of color my son helped put and voila came out well. You just need motor skill to be able to place color anywhere on the shirt!

PP here the kit is for I think 10 tees so you can just buy individual color or save it when your kid grows older for the next year..
