So Tufts or Notre Dame over Georgia Tech for engineering?

A child who attains an UMC life (or MC if that’s what they truly want) with little financial support from their parents after graduating by working in a job that they generally like.

I would go to George Tech in that case. But if you ask about Harvard or George Tech for engineering I think everyone would pick Harvard in spite of the much lower ranking of Harvard engineering compared to George Tech. So it depends.

But if you are just talking general majors (science, business, history, etc.) then the college matters more than specific major. Companies want people who know how to think, and will train in the specifics of a job.

Yes, those poor Swarthmore grads are struggling.

Never heard of it.

Actually many liberal arts grads end up making peanuts teaching at private schools because they can't get jobs anywhere else.

This is not true for Swatties, but any measure.

OMG, are you the poster who keeps braying about Swarthmore? Hint: no one cares.

JMU is a prime example of a school I would research a lot before enrolling because it is hard to change a major there.

That’s actually major-specific. My son had no trouble switching majors there.
