Grass went brown over summer, should I bother reseeding?

I never water or feed my own and it’s still green. I think the more stuff you do to it the more it needs. Particularly the watering because you get shallow roots.

I think it also depends on position of lawn. South facing with full exposure is rough. How often should we water for a healthy lawn in the heat of summer? I didn’t water once.
