I like getting them mainly so that I know the gift was actually received! It does feel a little weird to just drop something off and then never know if it was opened or appreciated.

If you don't want to write thank you notes, ask for no gifts.

I've stopped expecting any acknowledgement.

I think it's bad manners, but I am no longer surprised.

I don't expect them. But, I do send them. Child is 4, and this year LOVED writing them himself. It was a fun activity to spend a morning drawing pictures and addressing the cards.

For large parties, I've gotten email thank you, which I'm totally fine with! I find silence a bit odd.
