I LOVE my Container Store Closet!

Love my ELFA too. We went closet by closet for years during the January sale. Install is very easy, but if you have more money than time, it is worth it. We have systems that are nearly 20 years old. Great quality, easy to reconfigure.

I want to do this but I live alone and would be doing it by myself. How hard would it be do it alone? I’m not particularly handy and worry everything would fall off the wall! Did you use specialwall anchors or just what the store provided?

It's not hard, you will be fine. Use what they provide unless you're installing it on a concrete wall.

use what the store provides 100%.

Have you ever used a drill? If you are a little bit handy, then -- yes, you can do this. There is a learning curve. And it does take some muscle to get those screws ALL THE WAY in the wall (even after you use the drill). I would recommend doing an inventory on all the pieces they give you before you start (we made that mistake -- and had to go back twice!).

If you are o.k. with using a drill (you need 1/8 in bit, 3/8th in bit, and a #2 philips head bit), and using a screwdriver (with some pressure and push), then you can do it.

You also have to be willing to pull out your existing racks, spackle, sand and paint over that. Pulling out the existing racks takes some muscle b/c you have to pull out the anchors that are in there now. Again... this is not like plumbing or electrical work. It doesn't take special skill. Just some patience and muscle.

Our tiny closet walls are plaster. Any install on plaster successfully?

How big is your closet? My large double door closet (not walk in) was $189. Totally worth it.

Can anyoner recommend a good designer in the Arlington store? I have a weird deep narrow one door reach-in closet and I need someone’s help to design the the best use of that awkward space.

Idk but they’ve all been good in Tenleytown. I just walk in. 4 for 4. But even if you like the person, they can save it and you can go away and think about it and then come back and tinker with someone else.
