Sick the first week of kindergarten

like any other week. fever or vomiting or diarrhea stay home.

My advice is to not sweat it if she needs to miss a day and stay home and rest. It’s only K! No big deal to miss and no homework. It’s only when they get into the upper grades do you need to worry about missing. Let her rest at home and get healthy if you feel she needs it.

While kids may not be missing anything "academic," the first week of kindergarten is a big transition and consistency in routine is pretty important for a 5 year old

Sure. But not if the kid is sick and needs rest. And I’m sure day 4 is ok. Really any day is ok if the kid is sick. Chill. I’d rather have a healthy kid in class than a sick miserable one.

3 months from now it won't matter. keep the kid home
