| For IVF at 45 you will be heavily pressured to go DE. |
| Cornell, Dr. Davis if you can go to NYC. |
Thankfully my clinic was pretty chill last summer when we tried. My fsh was still decent last year and I managed to have four of seven make it to five day blast. I’m sure they will mention it and review the situation, but I know they will go forward. |
I will check him out. Thanks! |
| If insurance covers most of it, why not? Unless you really need to save the few grand for DE or adoption. Worst case scenario, no kid, which is what you would've had without ever trying. Odds are slim, but if you're financially OK and mentally prepared for it to not work, I think it's worth the gamble. Good luck! |
This, or Dr Tortoriello at SIRM. Though I think I’d give the edge to Dr Davis if you want to pursue it. |

IVF at age 45 at some really, really, really small chance of working.
There have only been a few cycles of IVF that have worked at age 46+ ever(!) if the eggs were actually harvested at age 46. This is across all clinics in the world. Women get pregnant naturally in their mid 40's but mid-40's eggs are generally too fragile for the manipulation of IVF. |
Do you mean for insurance or to avoid travel? I was working full-time so intimidated by traveling to CO but it was fine. Went for initial work up - left after work, stayed near the clinic & went in the next am for a few hours & then straight to the airport & home. Did all monitoring locally & then travelled for egg retrieval and was only there 2 nights & then went back for the transfer & was again there 2 nights. Good luck! |

I had no luck w/ my eggs but eventually went w/ DE and turned 45 in the hospital after delivering healthy, term, twins.
So the pregnancy part probably isn't your challenge. Good luck! |
I would go to the same place and so the same thing. It seems to be working for you. |
OP has blocked tubes. That’s a different ballgame from many who go through IVF. not saying it will work but she has a decent record and is willing to try. |
| Try! Go for it. |
Yes, but even GREAT eggs don't respond well at all to the manipulation of IVF at age 45. They are fragile. Women are more likely to get pregnant naturally at age 45 than via IVF with eggs harvested at 45. |
I agree in principle and my own case supports it but OP has blocked tubes and can’t get pregnant naturally. |
| I think that is crazy, but what matters is what your and your DH think. Your opinion and wants are different than mine, or dcums. Good luck whatever you decide! |
