Not up for me. Probably depends on the school.

I was able to see Deal schedules
I just looked again this morning; still not there for me.
I'm the previous poster. I just looked again and saw nothing. The view is automatically set to "current year" so I changed it to "previous year" and saw last years schedule. I then switched the view back to "current year" and that's when the schedule popped up. For anyone that still can't see their kids schedule try that.

Thank you for posting this! I was able to access DC’s schedule. For all the nastiness on DCUM, it is moments like this I appreciate it. Thanks for the heads up DC is happy now.

How does one get access to Aspen?

You need a login and a password which is usually given out by the school, but this is the link. I'm still able to use mine from last school year.

For rising 6th graders, how did you all get access? Did you have it at your feeder school?

I thought it was deployed across all DCPS schools last year.

Deal emailed us the link on August 5th and I signed up. The title is Welcome to the Aspen Parent Portal. Check your junk mailbox. It should be there.

They assign all students to accelerated 6math. They will do assessments during the first week then rearrange students into the math class they tested into.

Whew! Thanks!

previous poster is correct.
All kids are put in 6th grade math. They'll be tested in the first week and either kept in 6th or placed in 7th. It's about a 50/50 split. Both are versions of pre-Algebra (as is 8th grade math).

Just a plug to go to 6th grade orientation on Friday. All of this will be explained there, as well as the different math tracks the kids can follow through MS.

Just FYI that the pre-placement observation and testing lasts 2-3 weeks; it used to happen within the first week, but they slowed it down a few years ago.

Last year it was down the second week of school. It's a one day test.

Thanks. I checked junk as well. Nothing here. I have only received the donation emails/bulletins from signing up for updates. I guess we’ll wait until Friday to get it sorted.

We haven’t gotten it yet either but I have an 8th grader so we have access to Aspen - our 6th grader isn’t even in the system yet.

I called and they didn’t have any contact info in system for my 6th grader. I guess filling out all those forms was for nothing

They were super friendly and updated it.

Yes, but they’re also using teacher observation of the students in the first week-plus to validate test results and placement. Two years ago it took two full weeks.

The point is, no one should panic if it isn’t done by Monday of the second week.

Last year was based on Iready alone and the rest was given in the second week and results turned around quickly.

Is there a way to determine which team your kid is on by schedule? Our DD may not male orientation and trying to figure if she’ll be with any friends.

Yes core subject (ELA math science geography) teachers will only be the same with kids on the same team.
