My work friend went to JMU and then Stanford for law school. So, sure, it’s a good school.

Happy Valley is Penn State. Considered the epitome of a big state school/college town. Until 2012.

I went to Notre Dame and never heard of Penn State referred to as Happy Valley before. I am a DC native.

Kind of not-so-happy with the sex abuse, and all.

You don’t notice the interstate on campus, it’s a non issue and a weird thing to be focused on honestly.

I didn’t even know what Happy Valley was.

What is Happy Valley? I think it's clear OP has an axe to grind is simply trolling.

I know this. Everyone loves it. They have great school spirit. They love JMU. But is it a GOOD school? All the PPs are making it sound like a party school and fun extension of high school.

Yes, it is a good school. That's why so many people go there. Smart and kind student body, wide variety of majors, excellent professors = good school.

THIS! I have to laugh at the posters who use that as a negative. The campus is quite lovely and the interstate really is a nonissue.

Just how clueless is the average DCUM poster? There is a gender disparity in all of higher education in favor of girls.

I meant such a large disparity. But I will also admit I’m completely clueless in this regard. My kids are in early elementary and, while I did know there was a disparity, I sure didn’t see it when I went. And I don’t see it in the grass we hire at my firm.
