Any running store will carry it. REI also carries it. |
Not a runner, just fat. I use Body Glide on areas that rub together (inner thighs) and Anti-Monkey Butt powder for her on the area that are touching but not rubbing (c-sec belly flap, under boobs) that sweat. |
Body glide is what you need.
I've actually found Gold Bond Friction Defense to perform the same as body glide at a slightly cheaper price. You can get Gold Bond friction defense in CVS, Walgreens, Target, etc. etc. But yeah, Body Glide or something like it and you are all set. |
Antiperspirant is an easy, at home solution you already have. In addition to my armpits, I roll it between my thighs, under the front and back of my sports bras. Works incredibly well - you don't need a specific anti-chafing product. My on sale Secret invisible solid works like a charm! |
I'm the bra one. Will these products work on chaffing due to clothes? I don't get chaffing between my legs, just from my bra. |
OP here. I didn’t have time to get body glide so I rubbed coconut oil all over the chafing, put on a pair of boy shorts underwear and cut the liner out of an old pair of shorts I don’t care about. Did a 6 mile run. Granted it’s not as bad out tonight as it was yesterday but shockingly the coconut oil worked. |
Sport shield anti chafing roller, great stuff no smell. |
Don't run outdoors on a day like yesterday or today! I mean, that's a no brainer! |
For the bra, it needs to be tight enough so that it doesn’t rub. Maybe you’re wearing the wrong size.
For thighs, I NEVER run in anything other than leggings. I can not comprehend how women whose thighs rub together run in shorts. I see it all the time during races and it looks like the most uncomfortable thing EVER. Leggings eliminate this problem immediately. I wear capris length - full length is too hot. |
For the love of god people, I'm telling you - just rub your deodorant/antiperspirant under your bra, between your thighs, etc.
Life changing for summer! |
Is there a brand/style of women's underwear people would recommend that prevents crotch chafing? Post a link, please. |
Yep I used to do this when I was training for longer races. (Now I'm more of just a "fitness" runner.) It worked fine. It sounds like in OP's case the issue is the shorts lining, though. That's not an area where your body is causing the chafing. Bike shorts FTW. |
Athletic shorts and going commando. |
Are you chafing from your underwear? I will between my thighs. The only solution is a longer short. I wear running shorts when it's this hot, they need to be at least a 2" inseam but 3 or 4 is ideal. |
Loose clothing. Might look like a ghost running in a sheet-robe, but it works in the deserts. ![]() |
