What if I can't afford childbirth classes?

OP, just go to the library and check out a bunch of books on childbirth. Many of the PPs' suggestions are great. I took a basic class (totally worthless) and a med-free class but found the most helpful information in books I got from the public library. You'll get the pros and cons of different medications, issues that may come up, ways to avoid tearing or an episiotomy, and ways to deal with the pain naturally. I delivered naturally so I also used The Bradley Method as a source. It would be helpful for early labor even if you intend to or do get an epidural.
