My back is killing me, recommend mattress.

Anybody here have recommendations for very overweight individuals? I’m sick of our mattresses having major sagging issues every few years....

If you’re having back pain try a Bikram yogi class. It strengthens the back and improves alignment.

After extensive research, I don’t worry about the brand. I go to Macy’s around a holiday when they have a mattress sale and I buy whichever mattress has a low gauge coil (the lower the gauge, the thicker the coils are and the firmer the mattress) and the most possible coils (more coils equals less sag and less movement for you when your partner rolls over). I also get it with a pillow top because I like the combination of a firm mattress and a cushy top layer. My mattress is 3 or 4 years old and it’s so incredibly comfortable. It’s the best purchase I ever made. I’m in my mid forties and a good night’s sleep is a top priority for me. I didn’t mind dropping $2200 on the mattress and boxed spring.

Nobody should be buying coil mattresses anymore. This is because the bed-in-a-box mb attresses are superior. We bought a Leesa and it's very good. FYI - you need a FIRM mattress to support your back. If you are having pain that means your mattress is too soft.

I didn't want foam made from petroleum products. Also, because foam is highly flammable, a large amount of toxic flame retardants are often added.

I absolutely hate our Leesa- it was a dream for the first 3 months or so, but then it started to sink where we both sleep (yes we flipped our mattress etc. every 6 months) so there's like a "mountain" between both of us in the bed. I've heard good things about Casper but haven't tried it.

Is there really a difference between Leesa/Purple/Casper etc?

Stay away from Casper. Based on what I read, its the worst of the bed in a box mattresses.

I think I am going to get avocado pillowtop. If it doesn’t work, return policy looks pretty great. Thanks all!

You forgot the very important "In my opinion/experience" at the front of your post.

Not everyone is the same. In my experience, foam mattresses don't provide enough support, they sag very quickly, they need to be replaced more frequently. I have a hybrid, actually.

I couldn’t agree more. Ours sucks, and the replacement they sent sucks too
